If you have psoriasis you are probably aware that psoriasis is not curable.  At times psoriasis can be not only embarrassing but painful as well.  In most cases we can bring psoriasis in control, but there are always some cases that may be resistant to current treatment.

One of the exciting new therapies for psoriasis  is treatment with the XTRAC Excimer Laser.  This is an UVB laser that delivers light therapy safely and directly to the psoriatic plaques.

My patients love this treatment because it is faster than conventional  therapy, safe and effective and you don't have to deal with messy creams and ointments.

This treatment is excellent for those that have mild to moderate psoriasis and treatments are very brief, typically under 5 minutes.

There is no pain or discomfort during the procedure and no restrictions following the treatment.

Excellent response is usually seen in 4 to 10 treatments and clearing may last from 4 to 6 months or longer.  This is a similar response as to standard phototherapy, but it takes far fewer treatments and clearing occurs in about half the time.

The treatment is safer than other therapies because it is limited just to the sites of psoriasis, surrounding skin is not affected unlike other treatments.

These treatments are covered by Medicare and many other insurances.

Psoriasis is not the only condition that the XTRAC Laser has been shown to be beneficial: conditions such as atopic eczema and Vitiligo have also been shown to improve.  Unfortunately insurance does not cover treatments for these conditions, but they can still be done on your own.

We always welcome international visitors, but be aware that treatments are done twice a week and it may take 4 to 6 weeks for excellent response.  Orlando is the tourist capital of the world so many plan long vacations with their treatments.
