Skin contact with (+/-) Alpha-Tocopherol or product that use (+/-) Alpha
Tocopherol may results in an allergic contact dermatitis. Oral intake of (+/-)
-Alpha- Tocopherol (Vitamin E) do not cause allergic reactions, however topical
applications sensitized individuals and may cause delayed allergic contact
dermatitis or immediate allergic urticaria.
This chemical acts as an antioxidant most commonly found in cosmetic and topical
agents.
